In order to be an active contributor in the integration of refugees, KraussMaffei carried out a career orientation initiative at the Munich location in early 2016. In February and April, four refugees began internships in Munich. Four additional interns joined in May. Interns as well as employees benefit from the initiative, as the training orientation period has a strong, integrative power and proves that both sides can learn from one another. Since September 2016, KraussMaffei has offered refugees an entry-level qualification to become an automotive painter. The qualification process can last up to twelve months.
